🌿Li Chun occurs this year on February 4 and is known as the ‘Start of or, Standing Up of Spring’ according to the Chinese solar calendar. It is the first of the 24 Solar Terms which divide the year into 24 ‘terms’ or seasonal markers. Based on the 360° passage of the Earth around the Sun, each term is 15° which translates into 15 days per term.

☀️Li Chun begins when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 315° It is celebrated with special New Year events and festivals along with ceremonies and offerings to the gods for a prosperous New Year.

Term ‘Rain’Water’

☔️’Yu Shui occurs this year on February 19 and is known as Rain Water’ or ‘More Rain than Snow’ according to the Chinese Solar calendar.

🌾It is the second of the 24 Solar Terms which divide the year into 24 ‘terms’ or seasonal markers. Based on the 360 passage of the Earth around the Sun, each term is 15o which translates into 15 days per term.

🌏Yu Shui begins when the sun reaches the celestial longitude of 330°. Water, in its dormant state as snow/ice begins to flow and engender the awakening of life as yang energy waxes.
