Functions:
Release the exterior, disperses wind- heat, clears the head, brightens the eyes, and benefit the throat
Vents rashes
Soothes and relieves Liver qi stagnation
Disperses turbid qi
Indications:
Fever, cough, headache, red eyes, and sore throat;
Use in early stage of rashes (measles) to induce rash to come to the surface- venting wind and heat;
Pressure in chest or flanks, emotional instability, and gynecological problems
Summertime exposure to unclean qi leading to summertime gastric disturbance, with abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and a thick, greasy, yellow tongue coating;
Contra-Indications:
Debilitated patients who sweat profusely or with Liver yang rising
